The Journal of Clinical Oncology had a report about improving the survival rate of patients with Pleural Mesothelioma. The article stated that patients with Pleural Mesothelioma may have improved health if they take a Trimodality Therapy treatment approach.

This approach uses three different types of treatment to combat the Mesothelioma Cancer.

Patients who have already tested this idea have responded well to the treatment. During the study, those who completed all three rounds of treatment saw a two-year survival rate of 61%.

A team of researchers at the University of Minnesota have begun a five-year study to determine if our definition of asbestos is currently too broad.

The study will look at the health effects of taconite dust by looking at 1,200 taconite miners and their spouses.

Most of the time researchers just look at asbestos as the cause of Mesothelioma, but it seems that tanconite plays a huge part as well.

The government in the United Kingdom has decided against restoring compensation for victims of the asbestos-caused disease Pleural Plaques.

Pleural Plaques is the scarring of the lungs and is caused by exposure to asbestos fibers.

The decision that was made makes sure that Pleural Plaque victims will not receive compensation until they develop full-blown diseases from their asbestos exposure, including Mesothelioma.

The International Journal of Occupational and Environmental Health have found a way that it might be possible to use imaging software to help with Mesothelioma Cancer. The journal discusses how researchers at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute’s National Center for Vermiculite and Asbestos-Related Cancers (NCVAC) have found what may be a reason for the chest pain that is associated with asbestos related diseases, especially Mesothelioma Cancer.

There is a new radiography process where researchers can find and document pleural plaques in the body as well as document the erosion of the interior wall of the ribs when an individual is diagnosed with an asbestos-related disease.

This new process can enhance images from a high resolution CT scan, and with the clarity of the picture doctors will be able to diagnosed asbestos-related diseases at an earlier stage.

River Junction Mobile Home Services, LLC, and the man who owns the company, Randall Cornford, were charged with violating a number of asbestos laws and regulations.

The company was caught burning mobile homes on a rural property in Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources filed a complaint against the company and its owner after finding traces of asbestos in the burn piles.

Randall did not check the mobile homes for asbestos before burning them and did not notify any authorities about the burning before it took place.

So far Randall and his company have been ordered to pay $65,000 in fines. Do you think this is fair?

The family of Japanese electrician, Kenji Fujiwara passed away from Malignant Mesothelioma in 2006, after being diagnosed with the illness in 2006, was just awarded 30 million yen for his passing.

The story is that the Chubu Electric Power Company failed to tell workers about safety precautions due to asbestos. Kenji worked at the power company from 1958 to 1999.

In Kentucky there is a former electroplating facility known as Deena Products which manufactured lamp fixtures. The facility, which is near Arlington, is now being cleaned up by the Energy and Environment Cabinet’s Division of Waste Management because asbestos-contaminated debris was found on the site.

The site is due to be demolished as soon as the asbestos fibers can be safely cleared.

Kentucky is urging both previous workers of the facility and nearby residents to keep an eye on their health in the coming years as they may develop diseases related to being exposed to the asbestos fibers – most commonly Mesothelioma Cancer.

The Hazardous Waste Management Fund is giving money for the emergency cleanup of the site which is happening now.

In Israel the Ministerial Committee on Legislation has approved a new bill to regulate the cleanup of Asbestos. The bill was crafted by the Environmental Protection Ministry.

The bill will regulate the cleanup of Asbestos completely – and will put aside funds for treatment and cleanup as well.

The bill will also regulate the licensing required to remove or deal with Asbestos. The goal of the bill is to look at the removal of Asbestos from not only a safety perspective but also from an environmental perspective.

In the United States there is already a bill in place when it comes to the regulation of Asbestos work.

Fire Captain David Chesser from Nebraska underwent surgery to remove most of his Mesothelioma cancer.

In order to remove the majority of the cancer tumor, the doctors had to remove part of pancreas, spleen and appendix.

The fire department in Nebraska is using this case to raise awareness for others – especially for the hazards of fire fighters being exposed to asbestos and in turn being diagnosed with Mesothelioma cancer.

72-year-old Thomas Firth, of South Carolina, suffered from Mesothelioma cancer since he was diagnosed in November 2006. Sadly, Thomas passed away a year later on July 13, 2007.

Thomas was exposed to asbestos fibers at the Bethlehem Steel Company where we worked for under a year as a mechanic’s assistant.

A jury awarded Thomas’ family $700,000 to help for the loss of their family member. The Bethlehem Steel Company was expected to pay the family because of their negligence and failure to warn Thomas about the dangers of asbestos products and asbestos poisoning.
